Good to Know

Dress Code

Three onboard dress codes: Casual (open-neck shirts and slacks for men; pants, blouses, or casual dresses for women), Informal (jacket optional, shirt and slacks; dresses or pant suits), and Formal (tuxedo, dinner jacket, or dark suit; evening gowns or cocktail dresses). Formal nights occur once per 7 days at sea.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas of the open decks. All suites, restaurants, lounges, theatres, and indoor public spaces are non-smoking. E-cigarettes follow the same policy as tobacco.

Electrical Outlets

All suites are fitted with both 110V (US) and 220V (European) outlets, plus USB and USB-C charging points. Adapters are available from the butler upon request.

Currency Onboard

All onboard transactions are in U.S. dollars (USD) and may be charged to your suite folio settled at the end of the voyage. Major credit cards accepted; cash also welcome.

Gratuities

All gratuities for crew and butlers are included in the cruise fare. There is no expectation of additional tipping onboard.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity

Complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi for all guests. Premium Wi-Fi (faster, supports streaming) is included for Owner / Grand / Royal / Silver / Medallion suite guests; standard Wi-Fi for other categories. Wired Ethernet is also available in suites.

Health & Vaccination

Health declaration form must be completed at embarkation. Travel insurance with medical and evacuation coverage is strongly recommended. Some destinations require yellow-fever or other vaccinations — consult your travel agent.

Children Policy

Silversea welcomes guests of all ages. The minimum age for embarkation on most voyages is 6 months; on expedition voyages, the minimum age is 8 years (some itineraries require 12+). Children under 18 must share a suite with a parent or guardian.

Boots & Parka (Expedition)

Polar voyages provide a complimentary three-quarter-length expedition parka and complimentary use of muck boots for shore landings — both delivered to your suite at embarkation. Personal layered base clothing (waterproof trousers, thermal layers, gloves, hat) is the guest's responsibility.
