MS EUROPA 2 is Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' modern-luxury flagship - more relaxed, family-friendly and contemporary than her older sister, with 251 spacious veranda and ocean suites for up to 500 guests. Built by STX France in Saint-Nazaire and launched in 2013, EUROPA 2 holds five-stars-plus Berlitz ratings every year since.
Good to Know
Dress Code
Daytime dress is country-club casual; informal evenings call for a sport coat or dress, while gala evenings request black-tie / cocktail attire. Shorts are not appropriate for the main restaurants in the evening.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only; suites and most public areas are non-smoking. E-cigarettes follow the same rules. The cigar lounge on board EUROPA / EUROPA 2 has dedicated ventilation.
Electrical Outlets
Suites have 220V AC European-standard sockets (Schuko / CEE 7/4) plus US 110V outlets in EUROPA / EUROPA 2. HANSEATIC ships add USB-A and USB-C outlets at every desk.
Currency
All onboard purchases are settled in Euro (EUR). Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) accepted; cash advance available at reception in EUR up to 500 per day.
Gratuities
Tipping is at your discretion. A guideline of 10 EUR per guest per day is suggested and shared among the crew at the end of the voyage.
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is included on all Hapag-Lloyd Cruises ships, with one device session per guest per day; additional devices and unlimited streaming packages can be purchased at reception.
Health Declaration
All guests complete an online health declaration up to 7 days before embarkation. Mandatory polar-region documentation applies to HANSEATIC voyages above 60 degrees latitude.
Children Onboard
Children are welcome on EUROPA 2 from age 3 (with KNOPF Kids Club) and on HANSEATIC ships from age 8 months on European routes / age 2 worldwide. EUROPA accepts children only on selected family voyages.
