Scenic Eclipse and Eclipse II are Polar Class 6 vessels purpose-built for Antarctica, the Arctic and remote subantarctic islands.
A typical 11-day Antarctic Peninsula voyage includes:
- 2 sea days crossing the Drake Passage (calmer than legacy ships thanks to azimuth thrusters and active stabilizers)
- 5–6 days of Zodiac landings, kayaking and shore walks at penguin colonies, glaciers and historic huts
- Optional helicopter flightseeing (weather-permitting, surcharge)
- Optional submarine dives to ~300 m for invertebrate marine life (extra fee)
- Daily lectures by the 20-person Discovery Team — naturalists, glaciologists, photographers, marine biologists
- Mandatory IAATO bio-security protocols (boot washing between landings, no eating/drinking on shore)
Scenic provides a complimentary expedition parka, water bottle and use of polar-grade boots for every guest.
