Ivittuut – Ghost Town Discover the ghost town of Ivittuut, Greenland’s legendary cryolite mine site.
Visit the abandoned settlement of Ivittuut, once home to the world’s only commercial cryolite mine. This rare mineral played a key role in aluminium production and gave the site strategic importance during WWII. Closed in 1987, the town was left deserted, but its remains still tell the story of Greenland’s industrial past and life in a remote Arctic community.

Ikka Fjord – Cruising with a Local Cruise Ikka fjord accompanied by a local guide and have the opportunity to see muskox and underwater stalagmites
Board the ships Expedition Boats and meet up with your local guide at the entrance of Ikka Fjord. Follow your guide into this protected area visited by few. Chances of spotting Muskox are generally great here and at the end of the fjord there is a possibility to view underwater stalagmites if the weather conditions are right.
Cruise back to the ship after experiencing this rare and unique site.

Qaqortoq - Qaqortoq Community Visit Explore Qaqortoq’s colourful houses and historic sites on a self-guided tour.
Qaqortoq is South Greenland's largest town, and perhaps the most picturesque. This is your opportunity to explore at your own pace; wander between colourful houses, scenic viewpoints, and key landmarks such as Our Saviour’s Church and the renowned 'Stone & Man' sculptures, a collection of over 30 carvings embedded in boulders and rockfaces throughout the area.
Qaqortoq is also known for its strong connection to traditional Greenlandic kayaking (qajaq), particularly the skill of kayak rolling, which has been practiced for generations and remains an important part of local heritage.

Qaqortoq - Great Greenland Tannery Visit Great Greenland, the only tannery in Greenland, and see how hides and furs are processed. You will also learn about the old hunting traditions, which are an important part of Greenlandic culture.
The ancient hunting culture of the Inuits is still an important livelihood in Greenland and is the backbone of Greenlandic culture. Tanning, the conservation of hides, is an old trade that has been practiced for thousands of years.
At Great Greenland, many of the steps in the tanning process are automated, but the process still requires manual work and handling. The purpose of the process is to conserve the hide while preserving its natural look and feel.
Great Greenland is the only tannery in the country. Most of the furs are exported, but some are sewn into fashionable garments directly at the tannery. This tour includes a visit to the fashion design studios and the impressive fur storage rooms, with huge piles of sealskins and polar bear furs.
This tour is much more than just visiting the tannery. Your local guide will explain the ways and means of seal hunting and the working conditions of today's hunters. Great Greenland also allows private people to bring in their polar bear, muskox, and reindeer skins for professional tanning.

Continue to nearby Brattahlíð, founded around 985 CE by Erik the Red, where a guided tour brings this UNESCO-listed site to life through reconstructed Norse buildings and ancient ruins set within a remarkable historic landscape.

Qaqortoq - Kaffemik Take part in a traditional Greenlandic kaffemik, where a local family invites you to an intimate cultural gathering. And a pot of coffee, of course. This is an authentic experience that will give you a window into what life is like for Greenlanders.
Greenlanders use a large kaffemik to celebrate a wide range of events. This could be a child’s first tooth, first steps, first six months, first year, the first day at school, confirmation, etc. They invite family, friends, and neighbors for coffee, tea, and cake. They could easily host as many as 100 visitors in a single day. Instead of going out on occasions like this, Greenlanders celebrate at home. The party is usually prepared days in advance and the table set with fine china and decorative table linens.
While you are enjoying your coffee, you will be shown an example of the Greenlanders’ beautiful national dress. There will also be a demonstration of how the clothing is made and sewn.
